Dean Spade is an Associate Professor at the Seattle University School of Law. He is the founder and a member of the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, a law collective that provides free legal help to trans and gender non-conforming people who are poor and/or people of color and works to build trans resistance rooted in racial and economic justice. He is the author Normal Life: Administrative Violence, Critical Trans Politics and the Limits of Law (Duke 2015).
