This year, the National Bail Out Collective is launching their third annual Black Mama’s Day Bail Out. Between May 6th and May 12th, organizers across the country will bail out as many mothers and caregivers as we can. The Mama’s Day Bail Out is an annual action that calls attention to the cruelties of pretrial detention, frees our people from cages so they can be home with their families for Mother’s Day, provides supportive services to those we bail out and supports local campaigns to end money bail and pretrial detention.
As one of the founding members of the National Bail Out Collective, Law for Black Lives is incredibly excited to support the life saving and system changing work of the collective.
If you are interested in supporting this important work here are three ways you can throw down:
1) Provide needed legal support! If you are interested in providing local organizations with legal or research support, please full out this survey by Friday, April 26th. We need folks to represent people, court-watch, share sample memos, and conduct policy research.
